BIOGRAPHY

I started Coast Couture, LLC in November of 2005. At which point, I had been in and around the design field for nearly a decade. It was time for me to gather the knowledge and resources I had gained through my professional experiences, education and travels and branch out on my own.

I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree concentrating in Furniture and Design. That summer I moved to Southern California where I lived in Laguna Beach for the next three years. Laguna is a thriving artist community that undoubtedly shaped me into the designer I am today. It allowed me to really develop my own style ideology and sharpened my design sensibility. This great exposure confirmed an irrepressible need for me to explore my creative talents, personally and most importantly, professionally.

I have worked in a world famous artist gallery where I consulted and guided collectors on sculpture, one-of-a-kind furniture and original painting investments. I managed a high end interior design boutique and designer fabric library. I assisted in the planning, design and installation of a 26,000 square foot designer showroom. I was responsible for the overall display and merchandising of the entire store. Since starting Coast, I do mostly residential work but greatly enjoy doing commercial projects as well. I welcome projects of all shapes and sizes- whether it is new construction, remodeling, redesigning or simply dressing a space. I have designed and reinvented many, many spaces; each unique yet all based on the same principal…everyone deserves beautiful surroundings and the difference is in the details. Even smaller areas of interest can have a big impact in the overall look and feel of a room if accessorized and highlighted correctly. What I love most about being an independent designer, is that my resources are endless and I can truly provide the best solution for my clients. I am not limited or confined to specific stores, name brands, vendors, workrooms and sub-contractors.

Other creative talents I offer in addition to interior design are special event services and fresh floral design. Both have been a passion of mine for many years and I have been able to integrate the two genres quite nicely with my design business. I can tap into my design resources and utilize my strong creative background to truly make each event unique. I have been doing events and floral design professionally for several years now. I have developed my own personal event management style and again, being independent allows me to be extremely flexible with my services meeting the wide variety of individual event needs. Fresh floral design is just an extension of my fine arts foundation...they are sculptures, only organically designed and living. I insert my design sensibility of scale, proportion and color just as I would with an interior design project. I think providing a creative and smart solution for a space is no different than providing it for a picture perfect wedding, a special occasion or a seamless corporate event.

I will always continue to explore different avenues and offer creative solutions wherever needed in someone's life. Successfully designed spaces and events truly enrich people's lives and I am so thankful I can share my talents with others. At some point we all come across creative roadblocks and design dilemmas and I am thrilled to say I can help!
